Funding for workshops

WORKSHOP Competition regulations for tasks carried out in connection with the organization of workshops under the patronage of the Polish Society for Human and Evolution Studies

  1. The WORKSHOP Competition is organised by the Polish Society for Human and Evolution Studies hereinafter referred to as “PTNCE”.

  2. The goal of the WORKSHOP Competition is to fund tasks connected to organising workshops under the patronage of the PTNCE.

  3. The WORKSHOP Competition regulation describes the principles and procedure of distributing funding described in paragraph 2 of this regulation.

  4. One edition of the competition is planned per year, starting with 2022 until the competition is terminated by the Board of PTNCE.

  5. Applications must be submitted by 30 April each year.

  6. Applications may be submitted by members of PTNCE who are up to date on membership fee payments on or by the closing date for submitting applications.

  7. Each application must be submitted by one person (the Applicant) who is responsible for the preparation and submission of the application and, in the case of granting funds, accounting for their spending.

  8. Only one application may be submitted for one edition of the competition for a given event.

  9. The maximum amount of financing obtained does not exceed PLN 1,000 gross.

  10. Funding is made on the basis of evidence of expenditure presented by the laureate, which will be paid by PTNCE.

  11. Applications for the competition should be prepared on the basis of Annex 1 to these regulations. Applications should be sent to the e-mail address of PTNCE (ptnce@ptnce.pl).

  12. A complete application in English must include:

    • full details of the Applicant

    • a description of the workshops and a description of the task to be funded within the framework of the workshops

    • estimated costs along with justifications.

  13. The course of the Competition:

    • The submitted applications will be assessed in terms of form and content by the Competition Committee, which includes the President of the PTNCE Board and two members of the PTNCE Board appointed by the President

    • Applications that do not meet the formal requirements are not subject to further merit-based assessment. The Applicant may be requested to provide supplementary information relevant to the application within a time limit set by the Competition Committee.

    • For the purposes of merit-based assessment, a scale of 0–20 points is adopted.

    • When assessing the applications, their substantive value and the legitimacy of expenses are taken into account.

    • The Competition Laureate will be announced on the PTNCE website by 31 May each year. The decisions will be sent to all Applicants by e-mail to the address provided on the application form.

  14. Applicants cannot appeal the decision of the Committee.

  15. Settlement of the grant must be made on the basis of a report prepared by the Laureate within 3 months after the end of the workshops. The form of the report required for settlement will be announced together with the given edition of the Competition. Additionally, the workshops must be documented with photos, some of which may be posted on social media and on the PTNCE website.

  16. PTNCE shall have the authority to amend the provisions of these Regulations outside of the Call for Proposals period.

  17. Any change(s) to the Regulations will be announced by PTNCE by uploading a new version of the Regulations on the PTNCE website.
